The profiloplasty is based on a static and dynamic analysis of the face — at rest, in motion, face, 3/4 and profile. Dr. Marianne Cayatte evaluates each floor separately: brow, nose, lip mouth, chin, by checking the conventional ratio ratios (third-party rule, Steiner and Ricketts lines, chin-to-neck angle).
The goal is not to create a standard face, but to restore the proportion of patient origin, blur the shadows and put the light back into them. Only one session is sufficient in most cases. The results are immediate, reversible and last 12-18 months.
It is this global vision that distinguishes the profileoplasty from isolated rhinoplasty: one can give the illusion of a smaller nose by slightly advancing the chin, working the forehead and projecting the cheekbones forward, without touching the nose itself. The harmony of the chin is essential for the beauty of the face, with distinct face and profile criteria. In frontal view, the balance is based on respect for proportions, including the 1/3 upper and 2/3 lower rule on each side of the stomion.
In profile, the aesthetic criteria are defined by the lines of Steiner (oblique from the pogonium to the columella, leaning on both lips) and Ricketts (oblique from the pogonium to the tip of the nose, leaving the lip greater than 4 mm and the lip less than 2 mm).
The chin-neck angle, evaluated by the chin projection, is determined by two lines on the profile:
- A tangent at the lower edge of the mandible in its anterior third, more or less horizontal.
- Another, more vertical, connecting the anterior point of the chin to the anterior point of the nose tip.
In accordance with the classic criteria of beauty, this ideal angle varies between 80 and 95°. These aesthetic considerations guide the understanding of the chin from different angles, allowing to achieve optimal facial harmony.
