What does the treatment involve?
Hyaluronic acid gel is placed in selected areas of the lip. The quantity and flexibility of the product are adapted to the desired result: sharper contour, correction of an asymmetry or additional volume.
Who is this treatment for?
Adults with fine lips, asymmetry or loss of definition with age. A young lip and a mature lip do not treat each other the same way. The examination takes into account the skin around the mouth, teeth and smile.
How's the session going?
- You specify the desired change by looking at your mouth at rest and smile. The doctor checks the previous injections and history of herpes.
- After disinfection and anaesthesia adapted to your sensitivity, the gel is gradually injected with needle or cannula.
- The contour and symmetry are checked. A re-evaluation is made when the swelling has been resolved before considering a supplement.
How long do you expect?
About 20 to 30 minutes for the procedure, to which can be added the time of laying an anesthetic cream.
Is it painful?
The lip is a sensitive area: stings and feeling of tension are possible despite anesthesia. Sensitivity usually decreases in the following days.
What is recovery like, and is there any downtime?
Frequent swelling for 2 to 3 days, sometimes more pronounced the next day. Blues can last a week, sometimes more. Ideally keep 2 weeks before an important opportunity.
When will I see results?
The volume is visible immediately, but the lips appear to be more inflated first. The result is rather appreciated after 2 weeks.
How long do the effects last?
Often 6 to 12 months depending on gel, mouth mobility and previous injections. A check makes it possible to decide the maintenance without systematically adding the product.
Before and after your appointment
Don't massage without instructions. Avoid pressure and high heat at first. Report any fever button; preventive treatment may be prescribed in case of recurrent herpes.
Precautions to be considered
Strong or increasing pain, a white or marbled area, or a visual disorder after an injection require immediate management. Nodules, infection and asymmetry are also among the risks to be identified.
